How to play Math Cross
- Choose a game mode: Math Cross offers four game modes: Easy, Normal, Hard, and Expert. The difficulty of each mode varies. Choose Easy mode if you are a newbie to this type of math game. Choose the other modes if you are familiar with number challenges like Sudoku.
- Objective: Each level provides a series of incomplete numbers and equations. Your task is to select the numbers from the given numbers to create the correct equation. A number may appear in both horizontal and vertical equations, so you only truly complete the challenge when all the equations are correct.
- Choose equations with the fewest blank spaces: Start with the equations with the fewest blank spaces to create the first correct calculations.
- Try different approaches: Don't be afraid to try many times. Math is the subject of trial and error. Math Cross is no different. Drag numbers into the blank spaces and create correct calculations. If the equations associated with that equation give incorrect results, keep trying with other numbers.
- Distinguish correct and incorrect calculations by color: A correct calculation is green, an incorrect calculation is red. Use the color to identify whether the equation you just performed is correct or not.
Some strategies to be a Math Cross expert
- Prioritize simple calculations: Addition and subtraction with few numbers are usually easier than multiplication, division, or long, complex calculations.
- Apply the elimination method: The numbers to be filled in are displayed in green below the equation row. Numbers used for one row are not used for other unrelated rows. Remove it and try a different calculation.
- Blank space containing a diamond: Some spaces contain diamonds, but their values may vary. Don't be confused. Solve the space containing the diamond, and you will collect that diamond. Otherwise, these spaces are no different from regular spaces.
- Using hints: When you're stuck, don't forget you still have hints. Click on a hint and the game will fill in a number for you in any equation. The number of hints is limited. Don't waste them.
Controls
- Hold down the LMB key and drag the mouse to fill in the numbers needed for the equations. The correct calculation will show in green. Filling in the correct space containing the diamond will earn you a diamond.
- Click to use a hint, or select a game mode.
